Somewhat new to descent (2nd) but we have played some games mostly just single games where we've played First BLood and Fat Goblin with just basic starting decks and equipment for heroes and Overlord.

I have a lot more experience playing these types of games and have been OL throughout so far, but from my perspective I don't really see how 2 heroes can win A Fat Goblin?

As the OL, with 2 players, I get to place 3 spiders, 1 Open Group, 3 goblin archers, and I have Splig, who usually is buffed by 4 health after stealing 2 crops from the first part of this quest. As the OL, i will pick a Big monster such as the Ettin.

How are 2 heroes with just starting cards and equipment supposed to handle all of these monsters, let alone actually stopping and Killing Splig?

What am I missing here? Usually as the OL, i spend the first 2 turns using the goblins to bring the prisoners to splig who starts interrogating them as soon as he can. Meanwhile Im using the Ettin and spiders to try and kill the heroes. Eventually, once the prisoner is found, I start to move all forces forward to help Splig escape.

ANy thoughts? If the heroes are always going to be facing this tough of a fight, what is the point in trying really? We all like to win some along with losing some....IF some wins appear too..

THANKS!!
